At Cortha, we blend advanced optics and AI to create tailored factory automation systems, working closely with you to meet exact industrial needs with transparency and trust.
Cortha – inspired from the Cerebral Cortex which is involved in higher processes in the brain, including memory, thinking, learning, reasoning and problem-solving
We build machines that see; monitor, inspect, qualify, verify, measure, sort, guide and control. Our machines generate billions of datapoints for statistical analyses used for machine learning and artificial intelligence. Production data can be provided in near real-time via CorthaViewtm, the customer information dashboard.

We are a team of controls engineers, electronics technicians, software developers and optical specialists who have worked together for nearly 20 years. Our area of expertise is machine vision for factory automation – which means that, on the one hand; we know about industrial camera technology, image sensors, pixels, light sources, trigger bounce, high speed interfacing, machine vision algorithms, optical hardware – lenses, light filters, the Circle of Confusion and the electromagnetic spectrum. And on the other hand, we have expertise in PLC programming and mechanical handling, robotics and of course, we know about the importance of understanding takt time.

We installed an intelligent camera system to optimise the machine performance.

and how the latest generation are (almost) as good as the PC based systems of only a few years ago. The ratio of SmartCameras used with robots is on the increase.
One of our machine specialisms is realtime continuous inspection of soft material such as carbon fibre rolls or ceramic wool based felt. Some production lines are very fast and some production lines are quite slow. However, the core technology for all these lines is the same: Linescan cameras.
